GES "Smokies in our School" Game Night

Saturday, January 24th, 2026, 7:00 PM at the Cominco Arena - Smoke Eaters vs BlackFalds Bulldogs

Let's pack the Cominco Arena with Glenmerry students, staff and families on Saturday, January 24th!

The School that sells the most tickets for their game night will receive a very generous donation of $5000 USD from the Murphy Family Foundation PLUS a chance to see a GES staff member take a pie in the face!

It's that time of year again! We’re excited to invite you to our special Smokies in Our School Game Night at Cominco Arena. Let’s pack the arena with Glenmerry Elementary students, staff, and families on Saturday, January 24th, when the Trail Smoke Eaters face off against the BlackFalds Bulldogs. Doors open at 6 PM, and the puck drops at 7 PM.

 

Remember, the top three schools will receive generous donations from the Murphy Family Foundation:
🥇 1st place: $5,000
🥈 2nd place: $4,000
🥉 3rd place: $3,000

 

Bonus Fun – Pie in the Face!

To take things up a notch, we’re adding an extra “fun” reason to pack the rink:

  • The winning school gets to see a staff member (Principal, Vice Principal, or another brave volunteer) take a pie in the face at center ice! If they are up to it of course!
  • PLUS: Your school will vote for five Smokies players to visit your school…and they’ll get pied too! (Because who doesn’t love a good pie-in-the-face moment?)
 
Game Night Highlights
  • Exclusive Promo Code: $14 adult tickets ($17 value), $5 youth tickets ($7 value), $2 kids tickets.
  • School Spirit Section: Pick a section to suggest to your school to sit together and cheer loud.
  • Big Screen Shout-Out: Special welcome from the PA announcer
  • Fanboni Fun: Two students can ride the Kootenay Savings Fanboni during ice cleans.
  • National Anthem Performance: A student or staff member from your school can sing O Canada.
  • Liberty Foods Siren Cranker: A student (grade 6 or older) or staff member can crank the siren to fire up the crowd.
  • Intermission Contest: Your students will get a chance to compete for a prize on the ice! (if an intermission contest spot is available on your chosen night)
 

How to get discounted tickets:

  • Adults: $14 (regular $17)
  • Youth (13–18): $5 (regular $7)
  • Kids (12 & under): $2

  2. Click Find Tickets under the January 24 game.
  3. Scroll down and enter promo code: GLENMERRY then click Apply.
  4. Click Find Tickets under Option 1: Choose Your Seats. (Near Section 15, 17 and 19)
  5. Create an account, complete your purchase, and your tickets will be emailed to you for download or printing.
